Stevia as an Alternative KS Crop

What if Northeast Kansas led the way in growing the very profitable substitute for sugar crop called "stevia"?  We would have a high demand crop, unlike corn, wheat or milo. It's so profitable, you can send it to China for processing and back here and still make a good profit.  (But what if we built our own processing plant which is only about 10-20,000 dollars for a basic start-up?)  The profit would be really outstanding! Harvesting could be done through a co-op of shared or rented machinery.  It's an idea whose time has come.  Contact Ellen in the box below if you are interested in obtaining the feasibility study performed through K-state in July of 2016 in collaboration with a Northeast farmer from Summerfield and MCP4G.
